South Africa in 7,6,5,4,3,2,1 days time!!!

The things you find out about yourself as you prepare for overseas travel:

1. Travel Tip Websites! Backpacker Essentials is one of the better ones... plus inspires more travel!
2. iPod International Power kit (Brilliant!)
3. The value of Qantas Club (I've been preallocated fantastic seats already)
4. How pedantic one can become - my itinerary has more information on it than any back packer would ever be caught dead with!
5. You may be able to use said iPod, but what about the other electrical goodies? Enter the Korjo Australian to South African power plug converter... now why did I buy that iPod power kit again???
6. Old mobile phones can be packed up for use in other country with a pre-paid SIM card - no worries on losing valuable current phone
7. Chatting to people online is invaluable in meeting people before you get there! A little less worried about heading to Cape Town on my own now :)
8. Lonely Planet DVD's on the place you're going to inspire further investigation
9. South Africa has an economy half the size of Australia's with 4 times the number of people, but a currency exchange rate of AUS$1 to ZAR5!!!

Lastly but not least... how long it takes to update iPods!!!
